"Thanks to the many volunteers who worked in the Weinie Wagon this summer"

    Hope Gospel Mission's recently donated concession stand is fondly dubbed the "Wienie Wagon."  It's not as fancy as the Oscar Meyer Weiner, but it suits the Mission just fine.

    The little wagon was donated to Hope Gospel Mission this summer.  Resident men, community service workers, and volunteers spent many hours painting and renovating the little wagon.

    Already the wagon has been sent to several fundraising events.  It's been to Wal-Mart, Golden Express on Clairemont and it was also used at the hair cutting fundraiser at Tress Elite.

    The Mission has two more events scheduled this season.  The wagon will be at Wal-Mart  on October 4,5 & 6 and once again at Golden Express on October 19 & 20.

    If you would like to be involved in running the Weinie Wagon during these events or can suggest any other events we could attend, contact Randi at 552-5566.  Five to six people are the optimal for each shift.

Current Needs

The Mission currently has need of the following:

  • Disposable razors

  • Shampoo

  •  Socks & Briefs; Sweat Pants, and Jeans

  • Funds for an 8’ X 10’ easy-build utility shed.

  • 7 Passenger Van (to transport men to work)

  • Commercial kitchen items: Prep table, pots, pans, servings utensils; serving trays, silverware, plastic glasses, etc.

  • Daytime office volunteers.

  • Experienced grant writer (this could develop into a paid position).

  • We need employers who are willing to hire our men. Call Michelle or Gary for more information. (552-5566)
